1 shot in parking lot of apartments in Mauldin, wanted suspect ID’d

MAULDIN, SC (WSPA) – Mauldin Police Department officials said a search is underway for a man wanted for shooting another person in the parking of Mauldin Gardens Apartments in Mauldin Tuesday afternoon

According to Mauldin Police, the shooting happened around 4 p.m. at the apartments in Miller Road.

There is no word on the condition of the victim who was taken to the hospital.

According to a police department news release, the suspect — identified as Cedric Jamal Williams, 22 — approached the victim and shot him in the parking lot before running from the scene.

Police said Williams is wanted on a warrant for attempted murder.
