ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – One person died after four people were taken to the hospital following a crash along Highway 153 in Anderson County, Sunday evening.
The crash happened around 7 p.m. on Highway 153 at Old Pendleton Road in Powdersville.
South Carolina Highway Patrol said the drivers of a 2001 Ford van and a 2013 Kia four door were heading south on Highway 153 when the driver of a 2019 Volvo SUV attempted to turn left in front of them onto Old Pendleton Road.
Troopers said the driver of the Kia crashed into the Volvo. The driver of the Ford van attempted to avoid the crash but ran off of the right side of the roadway and crashed into a tree.
All of the drivers were taken to the hospital.
According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, the driver of the Kia, Brittany Lynn Delgado, 32, died at the hospital from her injuries a short time later.
The coroner said Delgado was on her way to visit a friend when the crash happened.
The coroner said she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office will continue to investigate the crash.
