UPDATE (3/16/19 10:50 a.m.):
Anderson County deputies said a child has been reunited with his mother after he was found walking along a roadway early Saturday morning.
Deputies said the mother of the boy has been located and the child has been released to her from DSS.
The sheriff’s office said they will continue to investigate the circumstancing surrounding the incident.
They have not said if anyone will be facing any charges but that DSS is now handling the investigation.

Anderson County deputies said a child was found walking along a roadway early Saturday morning.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a driver at about 2:06 a.m. alerting them that a child was walking near a roadway alone, deputies said. The driver told deputies that they saw a child walking along Highway 29 North near Welcome Road in Williamston.
Deputies were able to locate the boy wearing blue cartoon pajama bottoms with a grey cartoon pajama shirt at about 2:14 a.m. They believe the boy is about 4-years-old.
Deputies said they attempted to locate the child’s family, but the boy could only give them limited information. Deputies attempted a reverse 911 sent to the area, but their attempts were unsuccessful.
The boy has been into emergency protective custody and turned over to the South Carolina Department of Social Services until his parents can be located, deputies said.
