1 dead, 1 hurt after crash along I-26 in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG CO., SC (WSPA) – Troopers said one person was killed and another is in the hospital after a crash on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened on I-26 near exit 16 (John Dodd Road) shortly before 4:00pm.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, a pickup truck headed eastbound on I-26 crossed into oncoming traffic and struck two other vehicles.

The 16-year-old driver of the pickup truck was injured and taken to the hospital.

Highway Patrol said another driver died at the scene of the crash while a third driver was not hurt.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
