SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A body pulled from a lake in Spartanburg County Wednesday afternoon has been identified as a man who was missing since January.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office and a dive team responded to the scene off of Lake Forest Drive around 11:30am.

The sheriff’s office said men who were working on a nearby house saw a body in the water.
Both the body and a vehicle were pulled from the water.
“We always treat these like something terrible has happened,” said Sheriff Wright. “We pray that nothing terrible has happened. One tragedy already is that somebody has perished and that’s bad enough; but, if there’s something else to it, we want to know so that we can hold somebody accountable.”
The Spartanburg County Coroner identified the body as 25-year-old Tevin Thompson of Spartanburg.
No foul play is suspected at this time, the coroner said.
Thompson had been reported missing to Spartanburg Police in early January.
South Carolina Highway Patrol said the car hit a mailbox and a tree before going into the water.
Troopers have not yet been able to determine when the crash happened.
