1 dead, 3 injured in Spartanburg Co. shooting

SPARTANBURG CO., SC (WSPA) – One person has died and three others have been hospitalized after a shooting Tuesday night in Spartanburg County.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a shooting along Old Canaan Road around 9:00pm.

Responding deputies found two people with gunshot wounds along with two other people who said the suspect’s vehicle was on a nearby road, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies found a crashed vehicle on Rogers Lane with one person inside who had died.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jaheim Daquan Perry, 18, of Spartanburg.

Investigators said two people ran from the scene toward Stone Station Road.

The sheriff’s office said an off-duty deputy stopped one person at gunpoint in front of his home while the second was found down Stone Station Road with two gunshot wounds.

Of the three victims who were hospitalized, deputies said one is in critical condition while the other two have less serious injuries and are expected to recover.

Investigators are currently interviewing three people in connection with the shooting and say that all people involved have been accounted for.

There’s no word yet on any possible charges in the case.
