GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA)- The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a moving car on Monday.

Trooper said the collision happened on private property off Collingsworth Lane around 4:50 p.m. near Greer. The Greenville County Coroner has identified the victim as Antonio A. Miranda, 49, of Greenville.

During the investigation, troopers said that Miranda was repairing a vehicle, and the vehicle began to move. When Miranda tried to stop the vehicle, the vehicle struck Miranda and another parked vehicle.

According to troopers, Miranda was hit by a 2009 Ford sedan. Miranda died on the scene after being hit by a driverless vehicle in motion.

An autopsy was completed on Tuesday and the cause of death was determined to be blunt force injury of the head and with a manner of an accident.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the collision.
