ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation was on the scene of an “ongoing matter” Wednesday morning in Anderson County.
Agents were investigating with a team of divers along Centerville Road near Sandy Springs Road. At the scene a team of FBI divers, agents from the FBI Evidence Response Team and others from Anderson County Emergency management worked in and out of Lake Hartwell.
The FBI said there is no threat to the public.
The scene involves a case from the city of Anderson, according to officials. Anderson Police said they are not able to discuss which case the FBI is helping with, but they tell 7NEWS it’s an older case.
Anderson County Emergency Management said they are assisting the FBI and expect to be at the scene until at least Thursday.
