Fire damages apartment building in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – A fire damaged a building at the Meadow Run Apartments Tuesday evening in Anderson County.

Homeland Park Fire Department said firefighters responded to the apartment complex around 6:30pm where they found fire coming through the roof.

The fire was contained to one building, but did impact eight occupied units according to Anderson County Fire Department.

One person was transported to a local hospital with injuries.

The Red Cross is helping residents displaced as a result of the fire.

Assistant Fire Chief Brian Moon, with the Anderson County Fire Department, said the fire is suspicious, but an investigation remains ongoing.
