GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – The Boiling Springs Fire Department covers about 15 square miles on the east side of Greenville. The department has four stations to serve approximately 28,000 permanent residents and hundreds of businesses.
The department was established in the 1960’s. At a time, the area was largely a farming community. It’s now an area filled with robust home and business developments.
“It’s changed significantly, and we do that with our four stations,” Fire Chief Steve Graham said. “But more importantly with our mutual aid partners from Taylors Fire Department, Greer Fire Department and Pelham Batesville Fire Department. We have a very robust automatic aid system that provides additional manpower when we need it.”
There are 55 paid employees, 15 volunteers and six explorer scouts in the Boiling Springs Fire District.
The main station is on Pelham Road near the I-85 interchange.
