Man dies in hospital after crash in Greer, coroner says

GREER, SC (WSPA) – A man has died and two others were hurt after a crash in Greer, Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly before 3:30pm at the corner of Brushy Creek Road and Henderson Gap Road.

According to Greer Police, a Kia Forte made a left turn from Henderson Gap Road onto Brushy Creek Road where it was struck by a Toyota 4Runner SUV.

Police say the SUV hit the driver’s side of the Kia and then flipped onto its side.

The driver of the Kia, 78-year-old Lynwood Simonds of Greer, was hurt in the crash and taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Another person in the Kia and the driver of the SUV were also injured and taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time.

The Greer Police Department says the crash remains under investigation.
