SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A student at Dorman High School was arrested after being found with a gun.
According to Spartanburg County School District Six, administrators at Dorman searched a student Thursday afternoon and found a handgun in his possession.
The student was taken into law enforcement custody and will be charged, the district said.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said the gun was found in a coat belonging to a 16-year-old student.
The student was charged with Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds.
The sheriff’s office said the student was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
