The South Carolina Hispanic Chamber of Commerce says there are more than 6,000 Hispanic owned businesses in the state.
They credit the growth to hard work and smart business plans.

Ricardo Parra, owner of La Esperanza bakery, says the upstate is the perfect place for his business.
He has customers with Hispanic and Latino roots, but says the state is so diverse he receives business from all types of people.
Parra says the chamber of commerce is there to help business owners and form a community.
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will hold a networking event in celebration of small business week Thursday, May 3rd at 6:00 pm at the Commerce Club in Greenville.
