Long lines plague voters in Anderson Co.

Voters in Saturday’s primary are facing long lines at the polls in Anderson County.

According to Katy Smith, Director of Anderson County Registration and Elections, the long lines are being attributed to lack of volunteers and laptop computers at polling places and due to a higher than expected voter turnout.

Smith says they are deploying extra laptops to areas to help decrease wait times.

“My hope is that some of our voters out there today will see the lack of volunteer Election Workers and will step up to the plate to volunteer to work in our Elections here in Anderson County,” said Smith.
