Man accused of attempted murder after firing gun, hitting man in head and leg

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – A man faces an attempted murder charge after he reportedly shot at man and hit him in his head and leg on Monday night.

According to a Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies responded to an address in the 100 block of Bud White Way in reference to a shooting.

An investigation revealed that Joseph Edward White shot at the man multiple times, hitting the man twice — once in the leg and once in the head.

White was arrested shortly after the incident and later confessed to firing the gun at the man.

He was charged with attemted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office’s Lt. Kevin Bobo said the man’s injuries are non life-threatening, saying his injuries were the result of bullets ricocheting off of the ground.
