Man accused of livestreaming woman in shower after kidnapping, assault

SPARTANBURG Co., SC (WSPA) – A man is accused of kidnapping and assaulting an acquaintance and then making her take a shower while posting a Facebook Live video, bragging about what he did.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said Aaron Scott Woodruff, 29, of Cowpens is charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and dissemination of obscenity.

Investigators say Woodruff dropped the woman off at a hospital after she told him how much pain she was in.

Deputies say the victim’s family members and friends contacted officers after seeing the Facebook video.

According to an incident report, deputies interviewed the victim at a hospital. She told investigators Woodruff got angry after looking at her cell phone and repeatedly hit her in the face and grabbed her by the hair when she tried to get out of his car. She said Woodruff later took her to his home where he filmed the Facebook video as she showered.

Woodruff was arrested Tuesday night.

He remains in the Spartanburg County Detention Center. 

Bond was set at $25,000 each for the kidnapping and aggravated assault charges and $10,000 for dissemination of obscenity charge, according to jail records.
