JACKSON CO., GA (WSPA) – A man who fired shots at deputies in Georgia is in the hospital after he was shot by deputies before a three-hour standoff, Friday afternoon.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, deputies were called to a home on Charlie Cooper Road in Braselton for a report of gunfire around 4:00pm.

The GBI says 37-year-old Jonathan Wayne Allen fired on the two responding deputies, one of whom returned fire, injuring Allen.

Investigators say Allen had shot a family member before deputies arrived.

Allen barricaded himself in the home before he surrendered to members of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team.

Allen and the family member were both taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.

Allen is charged with Aggravated Assault and additional charges are expected, according to the GBI.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is continuing to investigate the shooting.
