GREENWOOD, SC (WSPA) – Greenwood Police Department officers arrested a man Sunday suspected of shooting at a home.

According to a post on the police department’s Facebook page, an officer was patrolling when he heard several gunshots.

He then went around the corner of Milwee Avenue onto Gray Street and saw a suspect standing next to a silver car, firing a handgun over the vehicle and in the direction of apartments on Palmetto Court.

According to the post, the suspect turned around, saw the police vehicle, threw down the gun and started to run.

A brief chase occurred, but the suspect was apprehended on the porch of a nearby apartment.

The suspect was identified as Toddrekus Malik White, 24, of Greenwood.

White was charged with discharging a firearm into a dwelling and failure to stop on lawful command.

Several shell casings were found where White had been standing, as well as the handgun.

According to the post, officers said the windows on the silver car were opened partially and a second gun was seen in the floorboard of the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and more charges may be forthcoming.
