LAURENS COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Laurens County Sheriff’s Office officials arrested a man on burglary and grand larceny charges.
According to a sheriff’s office news release, deputies responded to a theft at Sandy Springs Electrical in Laurens on Jan. 3.
David McJunkin, Jr., was identified as the suspect and deputies obtained a warrant charging him with grand larceny due to his previous convictions related to property crimes.
On Jan. 14, deputies were called to Bryant’s Body Shop in Laurens in reference to a burglary.
According to the release, several items were taken during the burglary and then were reportedly stashed in the woods across the street.
Deputies identified McJunkin as the burglary suspect and later arrested him when he returned to the area to get the stashed items.
McJunkin was charged with second-degree burglary and two counts of grand larceny, and was taken to the Johnson Detention Center.
He was being held on $110,000 bond.
“This criminal has had numerous second chances but as you can see, he continues to terrorize
our community and steal from businesses in Laurens County,” Sheriff Don Reynolds said. “Hopefully this time we can send him back to prison where he belongs.”
