SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) — A man is accused of attacking his coworker with a two-by-four at a business in Spartanburg.

Deputies responded Thursday to a fight at a business on New Cut Road.

According to a Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office report, a man told deputies he asked a coworker about his plans for Memorial Day weekend and that escalated into an argument before the suspect hit him with a two-by-four and choked him.

Another employee pulled the suspect, identified in the report as 48-year-old Reginald Lamont Foster, off the victim.

That witness told deputies Foster jumped off a lift and hit the victim with a two-by-four. The victim fell to the ground and Foster allegedly choked him.

A deputy noted several injuries to the victim who was taken to a hospital with marks and scratches to his head and upper body, along with a dislocated shoulder.

One deputy was injured while attempted to place Foster into a patrol car.

Foster was charged with second-degree assault and resisting arrest with assault.

Foster has been released from the Spartanburg County Detention Center, according to jail records.
