HENDERSON CO., NC (WSPA) – Investigators say they have charged a man in connection with a drug theft at a Fletcher Hospital.

Henderson Co. Sheriff’s Office says they have charged Marc Hayes Thompson, 44 of Wadesboro NC.

He is charged with felony breaking and entering, felony safecracking, and felony larceny after breaking and entering.

They say these charges stem from a July 4, 2016 incident where Thompson is suspected of going to Park Ridge Hospital in Fletcher, NC, breaking into a locked container in a secured surgical area and stealing narcotic medications.

The sheriff says Thompson is believed to be the same suspect who stole Versed from WNC hospitals.

He says Versed could be used as a date rape drug or put someone in a helpless state.
