NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The man accused of murdering a one-month-old infant waived his bond hearing Tuesday morning.

Troy Wilson, 29, is charged with homicide by child abuse and/or neglect.

Officers responded to 4915 Ozark Street in reference to an infant that was not breathing on August 18th, according to Spencer Pryor with the North Charleston Police Department.

The infant was transported by EMS to MUSC for treatment but later died, Pryor added.

Following the death, NCPD Investigators and the Coroner’s office began a suspicious death investigation.

An autopsy revealed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head. The infant suffered a major fracture to the right rear of her skull. A forensic pathologist says it would have taken “massive force” to cause the skull fracture.

According to the affidavit, Wilson waited three hours after the infant sustained the injury to call 911.

Wilson will have another scheduled court appearance in 30 days.
