(WSPA) – Greenwood Police say they arrested a man for having a stolen handgun after a report of shots fired early Monday morning.
Lamarion Dontray Griffin, 21, of Greenwood is charged with possession of a stolen handgun and failure to stop on lawful command by GPD officers.
Police say the shots fired call came into 911 around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Gilliam Court on the city’s east side.
An officer in a patrol car noticed two men sitting in a vehicle upon arriving. The man in the driver’s seat left the car and began running.
Another Greewnood Police officer was able to catch the man and arrest him. Police say they found a .45 caliber handgun in the car that was stolen in connection to an incident in the county.
