Man cited after dog found dead, another abandoned in Greer

News

GREER, SC (WSPA) – A dog was found abandoned and malnourished behind a Greer home, believed to have been left at the home for 4 to 8 weeks.

Greenville County Animal Control says the landlord found the dog at the home on Matlock Circle along with the skeletal remains of another dog.

The dog, given the name Maggie, is being treated at Greenville Animal Care for malnutrition, parasites, and heartworms. She is believed to have survived in the home by drinking rain water.

Maggie was brought in weighing only 28 pounds when officials say she should weigh 45 pounds.

Maggie will stay at the shelter until she is healthy.

The owner has been found and served 3 citations, according to Greenville Co. Animal Services.

Cory Glenn was served with 2 citations for failure to supply care and one for abandonment.

Glenn is scheduled to have a court hearing on August 26.
