OCONEE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – The Oconee Coroner’s Office said a 25-year-old man died Monday afternoon following a crash on Lawrence Bridge Road.
According to the coroner’s office news release, the crash — a near head-on collision — happened around 4 p.m. on Larence Bridge Road at the intersection of Plantation Road.
South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 2016 Ford was traveling north on Lawrence Bridge Road and a 2005 Ford truck was traveling south on Lawrence Bridge Road.
The 2016 Ford then reportedly crossed the center line and went into the southbound lanes, where the two vehicles crashed.
According to highway patrol, the driver of the 2016 Ford was entrapped in the vehicle and died at the scene.
Coroner Karl Addis identified the driver as Alex Braden Richardson, of Seneca.
Addis confimed that Richardson died from blunt force traumatic injuries and said his death was classified as an accident.
Richardson was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
Addis said he was reportedly on his way home from work and said Richardson was employed by the City of Walhalla.
The driver of the 2005 Ford truck and two juveniles in the vehicle were injured and taken to Oconee Memorial by ambulance.
No charges have been filed in the crash.
