Man dies after shooting on Stanmoore Dr. in Anderson, coroner says

ANDERSON Co., SC (WSPA) – The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said a man died in surgery after he was shot in Anderson Tuesday night.

Deputy Coroner Don McCown said the shooting happened around 7 p.m. on Stanmoore Drive.

The shooting victim — identified as Roger Andre Anderson, 37 — was taken in a private vehicle to AnMed Health.

McCown said Anderson died in surgery. He was pronounced dead at the hospital around 8:15 p.m. from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to McCown, a domestic incident took place between Anderson and Anderson’s girlfriend.

McCown said the girlfriend’s son also became involved in the incident when Anderson refused to leave the home.

According to McCown, Anderson also ripped the garage door off its hinges at their home.

McCown said it is believed that the girlfriend’s son is the alleged shooter in the incident.

Deputies are investigating the shooting.

Det. Nikki Carson, a spokesperson with the sheriff’s office, said there is no danger to the public.
