Man dies in crash after chase in Pickens Co.

PICKENS COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – The Pickens County Coroner’s Office said an Easley man died in a crash.

The crash happened around 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

Trooper Joe Hovis with the S.C. Highway Patrol said a truck was traveling south on Anderson Highway when it hit a 2004 Chrysler entering Anderson Highway from Flat Rock Road.

The driver of the Chrysler has been identified as 49-year-old Kenneth David Reynolds Jr.

Coroner Kandy Kelley said Reynolds’ vehicle was involved in a chase with Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

Reynold was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He later died at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Kelley said an autopsy will be done Friday morning.

The crash is being investigated by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
