Man hospitalized after pulled from Lake Keowee in Oconee Co.

OCONEE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Oconee County emergency officials said a man is being hospitalized after he was pulled from an area lake Monday afternoon.

According to Oconee County Fire Chief Charlie King, emergency crews were dispatched to Fall Creek Landing on Lake Keowee in regards to a report of a drowning at around 2:45 p.m.

King said Salem Fire and Rescue, EMS, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and the Oconee County Dive Team responded to the area and a man was pulled from the water.

According to King, the man was swimming in the lake with five or six friends.

CPR was performed and the man was then taken to Oconee Memorial Hospital for treatment. No word yet on the man’s condition.
