A man was killed in a crash on I-26 early Saturday morning.
It happened at about 1:45 a.m. near mile marker 45 in Laurens County, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Both cars involved in the accident were traveling west when they collided, troopers said. Both cars went off of the roadway.
Patrick Nathaniel Davis, 35, of Lexington, S.C., was driving a car that went into an embankment, overturned and struck a tree, troopers said.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Laurens County Coroner’s Office. Davis died at about 1:55 a.m. due to blunt force trauma.
The driver and passenger in the other vehicle were both uninjured, according to troopers.
No charges have been filed, troopers said.
SCHP and the coroner’s office will continue to investigate the crash.
