Man receives treatment following reported shooting in McDowell Co.

MCDOWELL COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Marion Police responded Friday evening to a report of gun shots being fired near West Court Street. 

While on their way to the area, police said they were notified that a man was at Mission Hospital in McDowell with gunshot wounds.  

Police said they determined that the shooting happened at the McDowell County Recreation Center on Academy Street. 

The man was then transported to Mission Hospital in Asheville for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to police. 

No arrests have been made, police said. 

Officers said the department’s criminal investigators will continue to investigate the incident.
