Man rescued from burning home in Oconee Co.


WALHALLA, SC — A duplex caught fire in Oconee County and crews had to rescue a man trapped inside.

The Oconee County Emergency Services say they responded to the fire on Wagner Circle around 3 a.m.

Emergency crews took the man to the Oconee County Medical Center for smoke inhalation, officials say.

Officials do not believe this fire is suspicious, but they are still investigating.

The home sustained heavy damage, officials say.

Walhalla Fire, Oconee County Emergency Services, Stations 21 and 16, Rescue 5, Westminster Fire and Oconee County EMS all responded to the incident.
