GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – A Greenville man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the 2016 murder of a man during a home invasion in the Poe Mill neighborhood.

22-year-old Connell Shauntaveis Wells, Jr. pleaded guilty in court Monday to the murder of Clinton Pearson.

According to the Solicitor’s Office, Wells, along with two others, went to the home on Cox Street believing there was a large quantity of drugs during the early morning hours of December 8, 2016.

Once at the home, one of the three fired shots into the front window of the home while another kicked the door in, according to evidence presented in court.

Pearson was by the gunfire and died at the scene.
