ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – One man is hurt after a shooting that happened at Deaverview Apartments, according to the Asheville Police Department.
Several calls came in at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday reporting gunshots at the apartment complex.
One caller reported that shots were being fired at a car.
Shortly after, 21-year-old Quwiivonte Timmons was found in his car at the intersection of Deaverview Road and Bear Creek Road, officers say.
Timmons’ car had been struck multiple times in the parking area between Buildings 25 and 29 in the apartment complex, according to the police department.
They say Timmons then drove himself to the intersection where he waited for first responders.
He was shot in the calf, according to the police department.
He was taken by EMS to Mission Hospital.
Two other unrelated cars that were parked in front of the apartments were also shot, according to officers.
They say multiple shell casings and a semi-automatic rifle were recovered at the scene.
The suspects who were believed to have been shooting at the cars fled the area on foot and have not been located, officers say.
