Man shot on Barclay Ave. in Gaffney on Sunday

GAFFNEY, S.C. (WSPA) – One person was shot in Gaffney early Sunday morning, according to Gaffney Police.

Dispatch said they received reports of multiple shots fired at about 1:24 a.m. on Barclay Avenue. 

One person was flown to the hospital, according to dispatch.

Police don’t have a condition on the victim.

Witnesses heard at least 10 shots, according to the report.

Several bullets hit homes and parked vehicles at two addresses.

A victim was found with a single gunshot wound to his torso and thought someone was throwing something at him.

He said he shined a flashlight on the suspect and that’s when the suspect “raised up a long gun and opened fire.”

The victim dove behind a tree until the shooting stopped.
