BAKERSVILLE, NC (WSPA) – Mitchell County deputies say a man was shot to death Monday night at a home in Bakersville and a suspect has been taken into custody after a traffic stop in Tennessee.

According to Mitchell County Sheriff Donald Street, deputies were called to a home on Odoms Chapel Road Monday night around 10:00pm for a report of shots fired.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found a man, later identified as Lincoln Adam Young, laying on the ground with an apparent bullet wound to the chest. Deputies performed CPR on the victim until ambulance crews arrived but the victim died from his wounds, according to Sheriff Street.

The suspect, 41-year-old Demetrius Lamar Bolden of Kingsport, TN, was arrested following a traffic stop by police in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Bolden is charged with Murder.

Sheriff Street says the shooting resulted from a fight following a car crash involving the suspect and the victim’s vehicle.
