Man to face several charges after chase with deputies in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Anderson County Sheriff’s Office officials arrested a man on several charges following a chase on Wednesday.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, deputies tried to stop a vehicle on Station Drive at around 7:15 p.m. in regards to an ongoing drug operation.

The driver of the vehicle then attempted to get away from law enforcement and a chase occurred.

Sgt. JT Foster said during the chase one deputy tried to box the suspect’s vehicle in, and the suspect hit the deputy’s car.

Another deputy tried to stop the chase by using a PIT maneuver, and the suspect then tried to wreck another deputy.

The suspect’s vehicle was forcibly stopped and he was taken into custody after being apprehended by a K9 officer.

The suspect, identified as Justin Paul Brown, 30, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of methamphetamine, failure to stop for blue light and resisting arrest.

No deputies were injured in the incident, but Brown received a cut on his thigh from the K9 officer.
