GAFFNEY, SC (WSPA) – A man wanted on attempted murder charges after a shooting incident in Gaffney last weekend was taken into custody on Wednesday.
We reported earlier that Jordan Keyshawn Smith opened fired Saturday at people on Poplar Springs Drive.
According to a previous police report, officers responded to South Poplar Springs Drive and West Buford Street and made contact with a woman in an SUV at a stop sign.
The woman told officers that Smith was her child’s father and said they had gotten into an argument at a home on South Poplar Springs Drive.
According to the report, the woman said she was taking their daughter to the car where her younger brother was and said Smith shot at her an their daughter.
The officer went to the home and found two .9mm Ruger shell casings in the road in front of the home, but Smith was no longer at the home.
The woman also told officers that she heard Smith say he was going to kill her as he was shooting.
On Wednesday, Gaffney Police Chief Chris Skinner said Smith was taken into custody at around 9:30 a.m.
Smith was charged with three counts of attempted murder.
Skinner said more charges could possibly be filed as the investigation continues.
