OCONEE Co., SC (WSPA) – A man’s body was found at Stamp Creek Landing near Lake Keowee Friday afternoon, according to Oconee Co. Emergency Services.

Elmer C. Church, 54, of Westminister, was found at about 4 p.m. along the shoreline of Lake Keowee, according to Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis.

Addis said it appeared that Church died late Friday afternoon.

Addis said Church had items with him that suggested he had plans to camp and fish in the area of Lake Keowee.

Church did not have any obvious fatal injuries, according to Addis. He said he does not suspect foul play.

An autopsy was performed on Sunday, but the results were inconclusive, Addis said. A toxicology analysis will be required to determine the final cause of death.
