Man’s body found in Saluda River in Pickens Co.

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man’s body was found in the Saluda River on Sunday morning, according to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. 

Steven Carroll Fletcher, 38, of Piedmont, was found near the 4700 block of Farrs Bridge Rd. in Easley, according to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office.  

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, fire service and EMS responded to the scene after a resident spotted the body floating near the river bank.

Fletcher was found fully clothed in blue jeans, a green camouflage sleeveless shirt and brown boots, according to the sheriff’s office. 

Deputies said there were no obvious signs of trauma to his body, which appeared to have been in the water for several hours.

An autopsy is expected to be scheduled for Monday.
