McDowell Co. High student gets felony charges for pot

McDOWELL CO., S.C. (WSPA) – Deputies say a 17-year-old McDowell Co. High School student has been charged with 4 felonies after they found 81 grams of marijuana in his car.

They got information that the student had marijuana and used K-9 unit “Jaz” to sniff out the vehicle in the parking lot.

They searched the car and found the weed and drug paraphernalia.

The teen is charged with:

  • Possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana
  • Maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance.
