(WSPA) – Several events will be held around the Upstate and in Western North Carolina Monday for Memorial Day.
The City of Simpsonville is holding its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:00am at the Veterans Memorial on Main Street. Senator Lindsey Graham will be attending the event which will honor fallen military and recognize several 100-year-old veterans. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held inside the Activity and Senior Center at 310 West Curtis Street.

Event will be held at 10:00am.
Memorial Day event with speakers Jane and John Dyer who were both inducted into the Smithsonian Wall of Fame and retired Air Force Rev. Carl McCluney. The event will be held outside the Mauldin Cultural Center on Butler Road at 11 a.m. If there is rain, the vent will move inside the Cultural Center.
A Memorial Day Program will be held at 11 a.m. at the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. The program will honor the men and women who bravely fought and served in our Armed Forces.
GREENVILLE EVENT CANCELED
Monday’s scheduled Greenville County Veterans Memorial Day Ceremony at County Square has been canceled due to weather.
Greenville will also offer free parking at all of the city’s garages from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., Monday.
ASHEVILLE EVENT CANCELED
Due to the National Weather Service forecast predicting heavy rain, city officials say the Memorial Day Concert and Ceremony has been canceled.
