The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office says they’re investigating the death of a missing woman found in a wooded area Saturday.

Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says the woman was found Saturday in a wooded area off Horse Creek Road.

Fowler identified the woman as 50 year old Vicki Loraine Ezell of Chesnee.

Fowler says a farmer cutting hay discovered the body about 1 p.m. in an area behind a home in the 500 block of Horse Creek Road and called 911.

Fowler says a family member filed a missing person’s report about Ezell on May 11th, which he says was 7 days after she was last seen.

Fowler tells 7 On Your Side it appears she had been dead for about 2 weeks based on the condition of the body.

He says it’s not clear how she died until an autopsy is done.
