Mold update at Spartanburg Courthouse


SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – JMAC environmental is cutting test holes around the courthouse starting Wednesday.

They will be covered with two colors of tape.

Beige with a date and initials means there needs to be more investigation and or remediation in that spot.

Blue means the area is scheduled only for repair and no more remediation is needed.

The schedule below is how the rest of the month should follow through with JMAC Environmental work here at the courthouse:

HVAC work and other remediation work/put back will now start on the 3rd floor (Solicitor Office, Master-in-Equity and Safe Home Rape Crisis) the evening of Thursday, September 8, 2016 through Sunday, September 18, 2016, with the 3rd floor reopening on Monday, September 19, 2016.

Remediation work will begin in Magistrate Courtroom #3 Friday, September 9, 2016 at 12:00pm through Sunday, September 11, 2016.

HVAC work will start in the Probate Court area on Friday, September 16, 2016 through Monday, September 19, 2016.

The week of Monday, September 26, 2016 through Friday September 30, 2016 the entire 2nd floor (Clerk of Court, Family Court, Front Desk, Circuit Court/Judges Area) will be relocated to the EOC and DJJ areas for HVAC work, remediation and wallpapering in the jury assembly room.

All outside window/asbestos work should be completed by Thursday, September 22, 2016.
