ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – A mother and daughter are dead after a shooting at a home in Anderson.

The coroner identified the victims as 77-year-old Judith Hilley Calvert and 50-year-old Theresa Lucille Wright.

Calvert and Wright’s bodies were found around 2:45 p.m. Sunday inside a home on Overbrook Street.

Coroner Greg Shore said it is believed that the murders happened Saturday night and described the women’s deaths as violent.

Shore said both Calvert and Wright were found in a bedroom of a home with gunshot wounds and stab wounds.

The coroner said both women were strangled and beaten hard. Shore said it was hard to determine their ultimate cause of death.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the double homicide.

As of Monday morning, deputies say no suspects have been arrested or identified in the killings.

The sheriff’s office said they are also investigating a shooting on Woodmont Circle that left a man in the ICU on Sunday.

Bradley Aldrich was arrested and charged with attempted murder in that case.

Aldrich is also charged with distribution of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of resisting arrest.

According to the coroner, Aldrich is the son and grandson of the victims in the Overbrook Street double homicide case.

We asked Sheriff Chad McBride if the cases were connected and he said it’s possible.

“I would say it’s a little earlier for me (to) 100 percent validate that those two cases are related, but they certainly could be,” McBride said.
