Moped driver leads deputies on two-county pursuit


GREENVILLE CO., S.C. (WSPA) — Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who fled a traffic stop.

Officers are near the Walmart store in Berea looking for the man as of 12:20 p.m. Thursday, according to Greenville County Dispatch.

Master Deputy Ryan Flood says Pickens County deputies tried to stop a moped driver.

Deputies pursued him into Greenville County where he ditched the moped near White Horse Road and West Blue Ridge Drive and ran on foot.

Flood said deputies have the moped.

Pickens County deputies tried to stop the man after responding to a report of a suspicious person near some homes.

Flood described the man as white and wearing all black clothing. He’s not believed to be dangerous.
