ASHEVILLE, NC (WSPA) – Police are still searching for a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run Friday night in Asheville.

According to an update from police, officers are searching for a white truck — believed to be either a 2004-2011 Chevrolet Colorado or GMS Canyon style truck.

Police said the truck was either a sport edition or had an after market sport edition grill, where the center bar is white, rather than a chrome color.

We reported earlier that the vehicle hit a pedestrian crossing the ramp from Patton Avenue to Westgate Parkway near the FedEx building.

The vehicle then left the scene before police arrived.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Joseph Matthew Ryan Styles, was taken to Mission Hospital where he died.

Anyone with information on the hit-and-run is asked to call the Asheville Police Department at 828-252-1110 or Buncombe County Crime Stoppers at 828-255-5050.
