Murder suspect may be in Spartanburg area

(WSPA) — Police say a man wanted for a deadly shooting in Charlotte may be hiding in the Upstate.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say 32-year-old Joseph Abercrombie murdered Antwain Maurice Price. WBTV reports Price was shot and killed on his 39th birthday in December.

Investigators think Abercrombie is traveling along interstates and may be staying in motels in the Spartanburg or Columbia areas.

Abercrombie, who goes by “Jay” and “South Carolina,” is wanted on charges of murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, identity theft, felony conspiracy, obtaining property by false pretenses and other charges.

Anyone with information of Abercrombie’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
