NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – On September 29 during Heart Walk at Riverfront Park, one of our Captains providing medical saw a dolphin struggling in the water and appeared to be entangled in a crab pot, according to officials with the North Charleston Fire Department.

The Captain reported the struggling dolphin to the boat crew currently in the water covering the event.

The boat crew quickly responded and untangled the dolphin from the crab pot, Fire and Life Safety Educator Laura Kondor stated.

The dolphin swam away with no noticeable injuries or problems, Kondor stated.
