Naked man arrested along I-40 in WNC, faces meth charges

Kevin Gordon Elliott

Deputies say they arrested a naked man who was walking on a ramp on Interstate 40 in western North Carolina.

The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Kevin Gordon Elliott, 48, of Marion with several offenses including indecent exposure.

Investigators say Elliott was spotted by N.C. Highway Patrol troopers around 12:40 a.m. on May 26 at Exit 86 off the interstate. We’re told he wasn’t wearing any clothes.

As he was taken into custody, the sheriff’s office says Elliott threw a pill bottle on the ground. He’s accused of having more than nine grams of methamphetamine in the bottle.

As a result, Elliott is also charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine.
