Newborns receive cardigans in celebration of Mr. Rogers Cardigan Day


PITTSBURGH, Pa. (CBS Newspath/WSPA) – Newborns receive hand made cardigans and slippers at UPMC McGee in Pittsburgh in celebration of Mr. Rogers cardigan day.

Fred’s widow, Joanne Rogers, was also at the hospital.

She talked about how Fred’s mother would make his iconic sweaters.

CBS affiliate KDKA said WQED hosted Cardigan Day on Nov. 13 as a way to honor Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood’s 65th anniversary. The show was filmed and produced at WQED.

Nov. 13 was also World Kindness Day.
